Care
Spinal adjustment
A hands-on adjustment to the spine or a joint, chosen for you after an exam. Your doctor explains the risks before any neck adjustment.

What a visit includes, and what it does not
What a visit includes
An exam, an explanation of what your doctor plans to do, and the adjustment, using the technique that fits you. You can ask for a gentler method or to stop at any time.
How long and how often
Your doctor sets a plan after the exam and reviews it with you as you go. We do not promise a number of visits.
What we do not claim
We do not say an adjustment treats a condition or prevents one. Soreness for a day or two is common.
When to see a physician first
See a physician first for a sudden severe headache or neck pain, new weakness or numbness, or chest pain.
PIP and auto medical coverage for visits they cover, many health plans, or you. You get the cost in writing first.
Questions about this care
Is a neck adjustment risky?
Rare serious events, such as a tear in a neck artery, have been reported. Your doctor explains these risks first and may choose another method.
Will it be painful?
Most adjustments are not. Tell your doctor if anything hurts and the method changes.
